TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival showcases a wide variety of culinary creations from across the East Valley. In recognition of the hard work that restaurant chefs and staff put into their offerings and booths, we’ve created the “Best Of TASTE.” Competition. Restaurants are encouraged to create a booth and sampling dish that best represents the essence and vibe of their restaurant to entice foodies to go in and try the full version.

Judging
Festival attendees are the judges for the “Best Of TASTE.” Competition and are each given a voting ballot when they enter the festival.
Each category will have specific restaurants listed that are eligible or make a good fit for that category. For example, in 2011 under the Asian category, the possible options were Shimogamo, Latitude Eight Thai Grill, The Sushi Room and Thai Dressing.
Scoring
Attendees can score each restaurant in four categories, using a 1-3 scale with 1 being the lowest and 3 being the highest. Those categories include: taste, originality, plate presentation and booth design/display.
As patrons leave TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival, they will be encouraged to turn in their ballots. Within three days following the event, organizers will sort through the ballots, enter each score into a master database and analyze the results to determine winners in each category. In the event of a tie, it is at the event organizers discretion to make a fair decision as to who won and/or to determine more than one winner in a specific category.
Winners, Prizes and Recognition
A press release recapping TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival will be released to more than 400 Arizona media contacts within 5 days of the event. All winners will be notified by email and/or phone prior to the official press release announcing the winners.
Winners typically enjoy the media attention that follows their win, they may be contacted by writers for local and regional publications to conduct interviews, photo opportunities, television cooking segments and much more. This is a great opportunity for the winning restaurants to get media recognition.
Within two weeks of the event, each winner will receive a custom engraved plaque to display proudly in their business.
