1st Annual TASTE. Chandler Culinary Festival

The table is set for the inaugural TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival 2009. Chandler’s soon-to-be signature culinary event will take place on Saturday, October 3, in Historic Downtown Chandler. The annual celebration presented by the HDE Agency and e events & entertainment is a festival of food, wine and spirits showcasing the flavors of Chandler that help give the East Valley city its sense of pride.

TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival will give participants the opportunity to taste, savor and enjoy the delicacies of Chandler’s finest eating establishments. Guests will indulge in the unique flavors of Chandler set within a casual, comfortable and festive atmosphere.

“Historic Downtown Chandler has become a hub for new and memorable events,” said Landon Evans, President of HDE Agency. “TASTE will be Chandler’s only culinary festival that exclusively represents Chandler restaurants and businesses. Our mission is to generate a new level of awareness and build on what Downtown Chandler has to offer the local community.”

TASTE. will be held at AJ Chandler Park between Arizona Ave. and Buffalo St. The event is expected to draw 35 restaurants and beverage purveyors, as well as 1,000 patrons. The festivities will take place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $45 for adults; this is a 21-and-older event. The price includes beverages.

There will also be a VIP area where only select restaurants, sponsors and guests are invited to attend. Entertainment will include jazz music and live performances by local musical artists.

Restaurants that have committed to participate in TASTE. include San Tan Brewing Company, Simply Unique Gelato, Urban Tea Loft, Kokopelli Winery, Streets of New York, Teakwood’s and Cork.

“The DCCP is excited to play an integral role in this wonderful, new event,” said Eileen Brill Wagner, Executive Director of the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership. “The award-winning restaurants in our downtown have been a great source of pride; we look forward to having them showcased, along with a number of other fine Chandler-based restaurants.”

Portions of event’s proceeds will benefit the Downtown Chandler Community Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that raises money and makes grants to community-serving programs and projects that benefit Downtown Chandler, and The Chandler Service Club, a local non-profit origination.

TASTE. Chandler’s Culinary Festival is presented in partnership with Alliance Beverages.
